  1. I felt something on my neck, reached ba there and felt a sharp sting or bite, the insect fell down the back of my shirt. I raised my shirt and a sting bug fell out. I stomp his butt, I now have a swollen knot the size of a quarter and it iches and somewhat sore. Any one who says a stink bug doesn’t bite is totally wrong.

  2. I didn’t know stink bugs are green when they are young. I started noticing a few around the house and was attacked several times. whether you want to call it buying or sting yes they do 1 of these and it is painful at least it was for me.I was awakened by a stinging sensation during sleep. It was quite a shock, literally. It was like a bolt of shooting electricity down my left arm. I was dazed and confused even wondered for us split second maybe I was dreaming.still feeling the painful sensation on my forearm, I immediately noticed, like was mentioned here, a red area about the size of a dime. The center of the bite or sting is very tender and slightly raise. Freaked me out. I know these things can be annoying, but this was a first for me. So, they can, and do, hurt.

  3. cut down the cherry tree it work for washington

I was awakened by a VERY PAINFUL SHOCKING SENSATION in my lower back. I thought it may have been a spider. But after grabbing that area and going to the bathroom to drop in the sink, It was a stink bug. I could not believe it. I had no idea that they could bite…I told my husband and he laughed. He thought I was crazy. He swore they could not bite and he heard something on the news about them not being able to bite. WELL THEY DO AND IT IS PAINFUL.. So if you are bitten by one know that you are not alone. Even if they are rare occasions. They do bite!!!!!!

  5. I was at an apple orchard with my 5 month old daughter who was peacefully asleep in the baby front carrier with her left temple on my chest. Suddenly something divebombed beneath the baby carrier hood and I felt a painful sting. My daughter woke up screaming and I pulled her out quickly. I had a definite puncture mark but I didn’t see a puncture on her. I never saw the causal agent but stink bugs were flying in our faces all day. We both developed a red spot that acted like a chemical burn, mine more or less circular and hers a thick upside-down curve. I hypothesized that I got bit by a stink bug and that it also released a chemical that burned us both when it got stuck inside the baby carrier. It took about 2 weeks for it to heal to pink skin.

  6. I didn’t know it but had a stink bug in my shoe. I felt a pinch and kicked my shoe off and found the bug. He was dead but within hours, I had a yellow/brown rash on the bottom of my foot. I hope it goes away soon!

  7. Can stink bugs bite you more than once? I woke up this morning w a burning and itchy sensation on my thighs.. I got up and looked for whatever bit me in my bed.. but only found a stink bug beside my bed in my curtain! The bite burns has a tingling feeling at times. And its huge in size. Tender to the touch. Could it n the stink bug? Or amy other insect?

  8. I was bitten in the upper thigh twice while sleeping by a stink bug. I believe I rolled over on him and he went on the defense mode. I had two round circles the size of half-dollars that ached to the touch but itched like Hades!!! I just killed one moments ago that was flying around the house. They sound like little airplanes when they fly by your head!!!!

  9. Got bit by a stink bug I was clicking my mouse and didnt see it go under my hand. It was stuck under my hand by my middle finger. hurt like heck. It wount let go I had no idea they bite. flicked that bugged across the room with my other hand. i hate stick bugs!

  10. While I have not had to deal with stink bug biting me, watch out for their cousin, the assassin bug, hurts even more than a snake bite

  11. I found out the hard way that , in fact, stink bugs do bite!!! My cat was chasing one in my bedroom. She knocked it on the rug. As I always did in the past, I picked it up to take it outside. All of a sudden, this terrible pain shot through my thumb!!! It really stung and hurt. I quickly rushed in the bathroom and washed my thumb. I also poured alcohol over my thumb. I think their bite is worse than a bee! My thumb still stings and burns, Never again will I pick up a stink bug!!!!

  12. I live in E. TN and every year stink bugs get worse. Just now I was sitting on the couch, working on my laptop when I felt something biting me. I saw the stink bug and flicked it off. I went to try and wash off the smell and by the time I got there the burning pain set in. I washed it with soap and then rubbing alcohol, which made the burning worse. It is a small rust colored raised spot a little smaller than a dime.
I always turn my clothes inside out and shake them and visa versa. I had one in my underwear one time but it didn’t bite me. I just kept smelling it and found it after I went to the bathroom. Funny, but gross.
I’ve been using an environmentally friendly bug spray around all the doors/windows, it seems to help but I have to spray again every two weeks. Looks like time to spray again.
I’ve never been bit by one and didn’t know they did. Thank goodness for this site to know I’m not crazy.

  13. I have found great support from this website. I was awoken last night with a bug crawling on my neck…I swatted it off and figured it was a spider…I woke up and found the stink bug on my bed. All day today I have felt an itching and redness to my neck and I had to look up if stink bugs bite…and they do! I had no idea…I’m grossed out.

  14. I was around 10 or 11 and was climbing a dogwood (never a good idea) and I turned my head and one hit me right in the eye, bit me on my eyelid an left what looked like a chemical burn, my parents would not believe me because we lived in Maryland before and they were terrible, but no one had gotten bit, then we moved to East Tennessee, we didn’t see any for the first couple of years. Now they are just as bad. I have to admit, I’m 16 now and ones on my window and I won’t go near the thing lol, it’s bad when you want to join the military and jump out of airplanes and shoot terrorist in their face, but won’t go near a stinkbug.

  15. Yes they bite! I stepped on one in my basement Friday night. I thought I stepped on glass it was a sharp pain, but I picked my foot up to see a stink bug attatched. My foot hurt extremely bad all night and still the next morning when I woke up. It started getting red and itchy saturday, so I went to an urgent care place and got prescribed an antibiotic and a steroid which I was able to pick up & start sunday. But sunday when I woke up my foot was super super swollen, red, and itchy as all hell! I tried to keep ice on it most of the day or soak it in cold water. Today, monday, when I woke up, the swelling and itching was as bad if not worse than yesterday. But I continued the medication and its gotten much better. Now it’s not very swollen and moderately itchy, and the redness is only in a large patch at the base of my toes/the top of my foot. Although the red is turning more reddish purple like a bruise now. So now when people laugh when I say stinkbugs bite, I have proof that it’s no joke!

  16. I sat down on the edge of my bed tonight
& felt a something land on my chest.I went to slap it,assuming it was a mosquito, and instantly felt a stinging sensation.I turned the light on and found an ant crawling on me so I slapped it killed it.Ive been bitten by an ant before & didn’t feel like this,so I picked up my sheet & shook it & low & behold,a stink bug came flying out.It felt like a yellow jacket sting, but not quite as intense. The pain went away after 15 minutes and I’ve got a dime sized rash with the notable puncture mark. Its getting cool outside now so the stink bug must have needed a warm place to sleep for the night.Make sure you check your bed sheets, shoes, etc before jumping into them.

  17. Ouch! Stink bug bites or burns whatever happens hurt like hell! Just got one. Made me leg burn! ?
